Uniform Policy

·      Shirt: Red polo – short or long sleeve
·      Pants: Navy blue
·      Socks: Solid white or navy blue
·      Outdoor sneakers – Comfortable sneakers with velcro closures
These are the shoes the children wear to school, wear for recess, and wear home each day. We will have outdoor play time every day and they need sneakers that let them be active!
·      Solid colors or patterns acceptable, but no characters (Disney, Paw Patrol, Spiderman, etc.)

·      Indoor sneakers – Indoor sneakers are provided - we will fit your child with a pair of Velcro or slip-on sneakers from our classroom set. These sneakers stay in the classroom; the children will change into their classroom/indoor shoes when they arrive each morning.

Optional:
·      Knee-length navy blue shorts or skorts (skirt with built-in shorts underneath) may be worn in September, May, and June
·      Navy Cardigan Sweater or Sweatshirt (no hood)

Notes:
-       Many of these items are found in unisex or boys clothing sections (it is okay for girls’ uniforms to come from the “boys” section!)

-       Please do not send your child in a skirt or jumper or tights. Montessori education is very active, and having appropriate clothing lets your child get the most out of their time in the classroom!

-       We recognize that keeping your child in a clean uniform can be a big task for parents. We teach the children care of self, including care of their clothing, and they use aprons for art and other potentially messy work. However, please know that there may be many days that your child comes home with a dirty uniform. While a dirty uniform may mean extra work for you, for your child this may be a sign that s/he had a really wonderful day of exploring and learning!
